A little while ago CorePlan processed its thousandth PLOD. We dug into the data and noticed some interesting patterns.
CorePlan reduces double-handling and human validation of data. Our users reported that CorePlan
Errors reduced at scale
The average PLOD has about 100 points of data, so in 1000 PLODS that works out to 100,000 points of data, 100,000 places where human error needs to be minimised.
When using our mobile app DrillPRO, on average, 78% of the data entered is validated by the system, on the fly. That means that instead of writing out details like drillbit IDs, the driller instead chooses from a set of predetermined items in checklists. This reduces errors enormously.
Users report that switching from paper & excel-based PLODkeeping to CorePlan or DrillPRO speeds up the process of recording, validating and submitting PLODs by as much as 40%.
Real-time data = more valuable data
Traditionally, PLODs are recorded near end-of-shift and sent upstream to drilling or mining companies at end-of-day. Geologists and accountants double-check the data, validating it, and making it actionable.
CorePlan’s real-time data entry enables all parties to keep abreast of conditions of rigs and the progress of projects.
Alignment of incentives
CorePlan and DrillPRO align the incentives of drillers, drilling companies and mining companies by providing the benefits of digital transformation to each.
Joe Blow Drilling benefits by halving his report-making time.
Excellent Drilling Company benefits by seeing all activities of all rigs in a single, real-time updated system.
Blue Sky Mining benefits by
